A 15 -year high school soccer player in Ohio was paralyzed after suffering a spinal cord injury during a game.
CBS Woio affiliate reported that the first -year student at Tuscarawas Valley High School, Mayson White, was paralyzed after injuring himself during his first football match on August 22. According to a Facebook publication from the local school district of the Valley of Tuscarawas, White was injured while making a Tackle. According to reports, the child’s mother, Amanda White, said her son fractured her C4 vertebrae, pressing her spine.
The teenager was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital and underwent surgery, the media reported.
“He has some movement in his right arm but not in his hand and can shrug, but nothing on his legs,” said his mother in a statement after the game, Woio reported.

In a Facebook post on August 28, Amanda White said her son had “successful” surgery.
“My son is strong, never a doubt in my mind, this child will do great things!” She published.
Woio reported that the 15 -year -old mother’s mother said she can move her arm and greet.
During the game of Tuscarawas Valley on August 29, fans used White to honor Mayson White. In a Facebook publication, the district shared a photo of students and staff that used white during the school day.
“The students and TVMHS staff are using whites today, since we are all thinking of you Mayson. #Mayysonwhiteout,” said the publication.
Multiple other schools in the area also participated in White Out during their games on August 29.
