Gómez, has joined the Institute of Orthopedics, Medicine and Spine Sports of Nicklaus Nicklaus. Dr. Gómez brings his extensive experience in the operational and non -surgical treatment of scoliosis and other complex spinal conditions in children and adolescents to one of the best orthopedic programs of the children of the Nation, according to US News & World Report.

Its specialty includes the use of friendly surgical techniques with growth for young children, as well as less invasive approaches, such as the foundry of scoliosis, reinforcements and complex corrections of spinal deformity. Active researcher, Dr. Gómez focuses on clinical results in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis. He has contributed to more than 50 publications and book chapters reviewed by peers, presented his research at national and international conferences and participated in numerous surgical medical trips to the Dominican Republic with the worldwide dissemination of the spine and the Mariposa Foundation.

Dr. Gómez obtained his doctor of Pontifical Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia, followed by an orthopedic surgical residence at the New York Presbyterian hospital at Columbia University. Later he obtained a pediatric orthopedic scholarship at Harvard Medicine Children’s Hospital/Boston Children’s Hospital, followed by a column surgery scholarship at the Joint Diseases Hospital of the University of New York.

He also held the position of Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Pediatrics.
