Son of the legendary winning rider of the Melbourne Brett Prebble Cup has shared a devastating update after undergoing greater surgery in its spine.
Jockey apprentice Tom Prebble was injured in a race fall in Warrnambool last week when his Mount Pulveriser seemed to cut heels about 700 meters from the finish line.
Prebble was transferred to Alfred hospital for surgery and was transferred to the ICU at Austin hospital on Monday.
‘My key injury is for my spinal cord. At the moment, I have nothing that happens from the lower part of my rib cage through my body, currently without feeling or movement, “Prebble said.
‘I know that there has been a mountain of concern and concern for where I am and I am very grateful for that. I am happy to leave it as clear as possible where things have landed a week.
‘My doctors say that it is now a waiting game in the coming weeks and months to see where things land. The message is very clear, to remain completely optimistic with respect to improvement, but also be realistic and that there is a complete range of possible results of this injury ‘.
