US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday, November 30, that he is willing to publish the results of the MRI test he underwent in October.
The statement was made during a press conference aboard Air Force One, as Trump returned to the White House after his Thanksgiving vacation at Mar-a-Lago, Florida. The president’s statements immediately drew attention, given the growing speculation about his health in recent weeks.
Trump’s promise
When asked about the result of his MRI examination, the president insisted that he would make the findings public if requested.
“If you want it published, I will do it,” Trump said. “It was just an MRI.”
When pressed for more details about the recent medical imaging test, the president admitted he could not specify what the procedure entailed.
‘What part of the body? It wasn’t the brain because I did a cognitive test and got excellent results,’ he said.
Increasing scrutiny on Trump’s health
Demand for more transparency around Trump’s health intensified after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ that Trump is ‘physically fading.’ He also criticized the “mental capacity” of the head of state. Walz later urged that the results of the president’s MRI be posted on his X account (formerly Twitter).
Trump had previously revealed that he underwent an MRI examination on October 10 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. However, neither he nor any White House spokesperson clarified which part of his body was scanned, leaving the public in doubt.
Concerns increased further after recent photos of the president taken at Mar-a-Lago went viral on social media. In one of the photos, he looked frail and tired sitting at a restaurant table. In another, he was smiling but still seemed visibly exhausted as he walked around his property.
Social media users quickly compared Trump’s photos to those of former President Joe Biden. In the side-by-side comparison, Trump’s predecessor appeared more alert and healthy, while Trump’s pale, tired appearance sparked renewed debate about his fitness for office.

Trump’s second physical this year
The October MRI was part of the president’s second health check that took place at Walter Reed National Medical Center this year. The first was a previous physical in April.
According to the White House, the president’s second visit to the hospital included “follow-up exams” and “advanced imaging, lab tests and preventive health evaluations.”
“President Trump continues to demonstrate excellent overall health,” the White House said, according to USA Today.
Although officials have withheld details of the imaging results, Trump told reporters that his doctor had given him “some of the best reports for his age, some of the best reports they’ve ever seen.”
Trump’s doctor, Sean Barbabella, previously diagnosed the president with chronic venous insufficiency. It is a common, benign condition that often affects people aged 70 and older and is usually characterized by swelling of the legs.
Trump remains the oldest president ever inaugurated after being re-elected to a second term in January. However, he is only the second-oldest sitting president in American history.
