Dr. Pierce Nanley completed his first US PERQDISC surgery. Spine Surgeon Dr. Frank Phillips joins the SST Board of Directors
San Antonio, March 3, 2025 /PRNewswire / – Spine Stabilization Technology, LLC (SST), has announced key milestones in its mission to revolutionize spinal cord care. “These are the most common researchers who have experienced a wide range of medical and medical director,” said Dr. Pierce Nunley, PhD, Principal Investigator and Medical Director at the Louisiana Spine Research Institute. “The procedure is particularly simple and the recovery period is expected to be short. The technology has the potential to revolutionize the treatment of patients suffering from lower back pain, providing an open, safe, minimally invasive option that reduces pain and maintains mobility while restoring function.”
The IDE test aims to assess the ability of PERQDISCs to replace the spinal cord of a single lumbar disc (L1-L5) and to maintain movement and relieve pain. Currently, patients with painful lumbar DDD have many patients who rely on spinal fusion to restrict movement and increase stress at adjacent spine levels. SST’s Perqdisc is a groundbreaking alternative that avoids fusion and leaves the surrounding anatomy intact.
To support the trial and accelerate the path to regulatory approval, SST recently raised $17 million in funding from existing and new investors. This investment highlights SST’s trust in technology and will be used to advance IDE trials and further clinical development initiatives.
