Nov -jerseyerze pharmaceutical company received a “conditional license” for its bird flu vaccine for use in chickens.
The vaccine, developed by Zoetis, aims at the subtype H5N2 of aviation flu, which has been found in birds and humans, according to a press release from the company.
The license was granted by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), a center for Veterinary Biological (CVB), the same source stated.

“When a new stress of HPAI was identified in the United States in early 2022, our scientists immediately began work to upgrade our previous aviation flu -vaccine,” said Mahesh Kumar, Doctor, senior vice president, global biological research and development at Zoetis, in the edition.
The company first worked on the development of bird flu vaccines in 2001 and 2002 in the midst of explosions between herds in Southeast Asia, Kumar noted.

Zoetis received a conditional license in 2016 for its H5N1 vaccine, which was used to help protect California condor, according to the company.
When contacted by Fox News Digital, Zoetis spokesman said the vaccine is not commercially available at the moment.

Jacob Glanville, general manager and president of Biotechnology Company Centivax in San Francisco, noted that the bird flu -vaccine of Zoetis is destined for veterinary use on bird herds.
“This is extremely good news, as vaccination of our animal populations is the best method of suppressing the global outbreak of H5N1 and protecting the economic interest of farmers,” he told Fox News Digital.

“So far our method has been slaughtering or killing, all the animals on a farm. This clearly did not work well enough and was terribly disapproved of farmers’ companies and the food supply,” said an expert on infectious diseases. (istock)

One limitation is that this H5N2 vaccine from Zoetis is “heavily misunderstood” to the circulating stress, Glanville warned.
“Now we need the same for cows and cats.”
“This could result in immune escape and survival but perpetuation of delivery.”
In the United States, there were a total of 68 cases of human bird flu, according to the latest US data for disease control and prevention (CDC).
