Fort Lauderdale, Florida, September 23, 2025 / PRNewswire / -In 2016, the Orthopedic column surgeon, CEO and founder of Kic Ventures, Dr. Kingsley R. Chin, was invited by the world-renowned column column surgeon Dr. Jens Chapman to deliver a conference at the Seattle Science Foundation. The theme that he chose: “The history and future of the column surgeons invest in the progress of column care”, was a bold call for doctors to claim their role as innovators, investors and leaders in the configuration of the future of column surgery.

“That conference was never intended to be comfortable,” said Dr. Chin. “I wanted to challenge the profession to stop being consumers of industry -driven solutions and start creating the future we want for our patients. The industry should not possess the innovation agenda, we should.”
From vision to reality
Almost a decade later, much of what Dr. Chin predicted is becoming a reality. Under his leadership, Kic Ventures has raised $ 30 million, most of the medical partners who actively dedicate themselves to advancing column care. Together, innovations have promoted through Nanisx and Axiomed, a pioneer in column column (less) philosophy and the principles of rep. Restoring the function, early intervention, preserving anatomy) as guide frames for innovation.
Kic Ventures has also acquired Nanofuse Biologics, the only 45S5 synthetic bioactive glass therapy approved by the FDA that can be combined with DBM or used alone, uniquely positioning the company to address the biological market with a differentiated solution.
Directed by the doctor and promoted by the patient
Kic Ventures continues to strengthen his medical leadership team with Dr. Erik Spayde as Medical Director, Dr. Josue Gabriel as Director of Medical Training and two new members of the Medical Board of various specialties.
“We have built an ecosystem led by a doctor who puts the patient’s results before sales fees,” said Dr. Chin. “This was exactly the message that I brought to Seattle, that surgeons must lead again, not to follow industry trends. I am still challenging the status quo.”
A call for bold doctors
In his 2016 conference, Dr. Chin argued that the excessive dependence of training and communities sponsored by the industry had turned many doctors into consumers instead of creators. Today, it continues to associate with pioneering surgeons who see beyond traditional pedicular screws and cages and want to help shape the next generation of column care.
“I was willing to act outside the box, and I’m still today,” said Dr. Chin. “We are demonstrating that the innovation led by the surgeon is not only possible but essential, and over time, I think that more doctors will join us.”
