Spinal elements awarded the visible innovative technology contract for the Karma® – Ortho News Fixing System

Carlsbad, California, August 5, 2025 / PRNewswire / – Spinal Elements, Inc. (“Spinal Elements” or the “Company”), a spinal implant company, announced today that he received an innovative technology contract visible for his subsequent karma fixing system. The contract was awarded based on the recommendation of the Karma Fixing System by hospital experts that serve in one of the councils led by Vizient clients, and means unique qualities that potentially provide improvements to the health industry.

Innovative technology contracts are recommended after review and interaction with products sent through the Vizient innovative technology program. The advice led by visiting clients identify technologies that have the potential to improve clinical care, patient safety, health workers’ safety or improve commercial operations of medical care organizations.

Developed by the team of spinal elements with feedback and direction of the column surgeons, karma is a procedure solution used to treat the degenerative disc disease, a common condition of the lumbar column. The karma uses a view band (polyetheretheretone, medical grade plastic) in the densest (cortical) bone of the column to provide fixation and stabilization to patients who experience low back pain, leg pain and/or instability. Karma is ideal for patients, since its band is metal free, low profile and minimizes tissue interruption. It is also ideal for outpatient surgery centers given its low operating room and universal implant room.

Ron Lloyd, president and CEO of Spinal Elements, commented: “We are honest to receive an estimated innovative technology contract for Karma. According to clinical performance data for 12 and 24 months, Karma offers a significant alternative treatment alternative at the height similar to conventional outputs. Taking advantage of the strongest bone in the backbone departures.

“After a revision of the Karma Fixing System, the Board customer council agreed that this technology offers a unique benefit on other products available in the market today and recommended it for an innovative technology contract. We are happy to grant this new contract to spinal elements,” said Kelly Flaharty, senior director of contract services for Bizient.

Vizient represents a diverse client base that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health benefits and non -acute medical care providers and has a portfolio that represents more than $ 140 billion in annual purchase volume. Through its innovative technology program, Vizient works with customer tips and work groups to evaluate products for their potential to bring real innovation to medical care. Vizient can grant a contract to products that are considered worthy of the innovative designation of technology outside the competitive supply cycle.
